Shylah Ray Sunshine is a First Nations singer, songwriter, activist, and professional vocal coach from Canada. Inspired by artists such Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, and Fela Kuti — her music centers Indigenous representation, feminine empowerment, and the belief that a song can change someone. Her sound blends Neo-Soul, R&B, Blues, New Age Jazz, and Gospel — raw, grounded, and built on over 15 years of independent artistry.

Self-taught on vocals, piano, and percussion, she came up through the Los Angeles music scene and has shared stages with artists such as Julian Marley, Lauren Jauregui, Saul Williams, Anwar Hadid, 6lack, and the legendary Roger Waters. Her debut single "Existence" earned a Hollywood Music in Media Award nomination for Best Song with Message/Social Impact and has been featured in documentaries and campaigns. Her hit "Into the Wild" has surpassed 6.5 million streams worldwide and has been featured in international film, TV, and media.

Winner of Best R&B Vocal Performance (World Entertainment Awards) and Best Female Vocalist of the Year (Hollywood Independent Music Awards), she has also been featured in Rolling Stone UK, NPR Tiny Desk Contest, SAY Magazine, DoubleBlind, Deitra Magazine, and Voyage LA.

Shylah offers music in sweat lodges, plant medicine ceremonies and honors ancestral language. She performs at political events and social justice gatherings — for her, song has always been prayer and prayer has always been a catalyst for change.

Currently headlining festivals across the US and releasing collaborative work throughout the year, Shylah's newest single ‘Bring Them Home’ speaks directly to the families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women.
