    * We meet at Mt Shasta City Park which has multiple community buildings. We typically meet at the Dance Hall.

About once per month during the warm months, we dance outdoors in the basketball court (outside the Lower Lodge, nearest to the headwaters). 🌲✨

Rarely, we may meet in the Lower Lodge.

All of these locations are very close to each other, there will be boards posted with arrows. Follow the music 💜

If we are meeting anywhere other than the Dance Hall, it will be in that week’s social posts and shared to our story on the day-of.

  • Ecstatic Dance is an intentional container for moving meditation, embodied expression, and somatic release.

All backgrounds, identities, expressions, ages, and ability levels are welcome.

  • To support a meditative, embodied experience and a safe space for all, we adhere to the following guidelines:

    • No Talking: We embrace a non-verbal space, this makes it easier to be in a meditative state. Exclamations and vocal expressions are welcome!

    • Free-form movement: There is no instruction. Come as you are and let your body lead; every movement is perfect. All ability levels encouraged. There are mats/chairs to stretch, lie down on, or sit down for mediation.

    • Consent: Always be mindful and respectful of personal space. ensuring a clear "yes" before beginning to dance with someone.

    • Barefoot: We dance with shoes off to connect more fully with the ground. If you have a physical condition that you need shoes, please wear designated dance shoes.

    • No Phones: To stay fully present in our experience and respect the privacy of all, we ask that phones are put away – no photos or videos.

    • Sober Space: To allow the dance be our high, we maintain a substance-free environment.

Thank you for maintaining the container with us for all backgrounds, identities, expressions, ages, and ability levels to embrace the power of movement within this community.

  • We acknowledge that we are on the unceded, ancestral homelands of the Shasta, Modoc, Karuk, Pit River/Achu Valley, and Wintu peoples, among others. These Indigenous peoples have stewarded this land and come to the mountain for ceremony for generations, and continue to do so today. We honor their wisdom and enduring connection to the land.

We recognize the historical and ongoing injustices they have faced and commit to learning from and supporting Indigenous communities. We offer our gratitude and respect to the people, their elders, both past and present, and all future generations.

    Sacred Sites
