Ecstatic Dance DJ

The Ecstatic Dance set:

  • A moving meditation journey featuring a variety of rhythms, tempos, tonalities, and ranges of emotional feelings.

  • Structured as a wave that gradually rises from silence up to an energetic peak/crescendo, and then gradually back down into silence.

  • The experience of crescendo at the top of the wave is the namesake of “ecstatic” dance; the intentionally structured journey creates a cathartic peak of bliss and breakthrough.

  • The downslope of energy returns to silence gradually, providing nervous system down-regulation and integration. Don’t pull the rug out! The sign of a good come-down is having a majority of dancers lying on the floor by the end.

The DJ set at Mount Shasta Ecstatic Dance is a 2 hour block.
